Dear Emilia:
It’s been over two months now since you’ve come into our world, and as I’ve watched you change our lives, I have noticed that you’ve also changed the world around you. Since we found out the joyous news of your imminent arrival, there has been nothing but anticipation and love surrounding you. Emilia, my darling, you have brought one unified thought to our familyand friends, for everyone had one thought...your healthy and joyful arrival.
Now that you’re here, so many of your loved ones have expressed love and affection for you with visits, notes, gifts, and best wishes. It is clear that you have already changed the world by filling it with so much love and affection. As your Mommy, I have been moved time and again with the kindness of your loved ones and of people who do not even know you. I’ve been told so many times that motherhood changes you, but nothing could have prepared me for this transformation. I spent nine months fantasizing about how you would look, feel and be. Now that you are here, I stare at you all the time amazed at the miracle God has given me in you, and the sheer joy that your presence gives me and your Daddy on a daily basis. My hope for you is that all of this love will serve as guideposts for you on your path through life and as a constant reminder about how special you are and how much love is in this world.
You are changing so much and we learn new things about you everyday. You are a happy baby and love to be sung to and talked to all the time. You are smart and curious, expressing interest in all the new adventures that surround you. It’s not uncommon to watch your face explode in a huge smile, and we are waiting to hear your laughter. You also make it very clear when you are not happy, for you have quite a big temper for such a small baby. You bring your Mommy and Daddy so much joy every single day.
Well, honey, I’m going to sign off for now. Know that you are loved deeply and that you are surrounded by many loved ones who love and care for you very much.

Stronger Everyday!

A walk with Mommy
Today I went with Mommy on a walk with her new Mom group...you can tell I'm bundled warm for the weather! I also have a little extra insulation to keep me warm these days.

My 2 month check-up
I visited Dr. Smith yesterday for a check-up and for what Mommy called "vaccinations," which were not fun at all! But I'm feeling much better today. I've gained 2lbs in 2 months. I weigh 10.4 lbs now, and am 23" tall! Dr. Smith told Mommy and Daddy that I'm doing great and look terrific!
Weekend Visitors
I had a few visitors this weekend! Auntie Sue came by for a visit and a snuggle, then Uncle Monkey came by to see me. Mike and Sarah came by to meet me for the first time.

Hanging with Cousin Eli
Cousin Eli comes for visits and walks with Tucker and Cooper. Mommy says he's getting better at holding me with each visit. Check us out...
Two Months!
Today I am 2 months old! I'm growing bigger everyday and spend a lot of time cooing, smiling, and running in place on my playmat and vibrating chair. Mom says I'm a good baby and she likes that I've begun to sleep a little more at night.

I love my play mat!
I love talking to my friends the red bird, the blue duck, and the ladybug. Sometimes Mommy lays on the mat with me and we play with the toys together.
A field trip to San Francisco!
Today I went on a field trip to San Francisco to visit Mommy's work...it was my first time crossing the Bay Bridge. Fun!

Cruising with Mommy
I love to go on walks with Mommy, Tucker and Cooper. My new favorite thing is to face out in my Snugli. This way I get to look at everything around me. I'm very curious!

A picnic!
We went to Lafayette Resevoir for a picnic with Auntie Sue, Savanna and Sierra. We went for a fun walk with Tucker and Cooper.
